CPS has finally arrived! After years of planning and a few weeks of hard work packing and moving, we opened the doors of our new campus at 3033 West Glenwood Avenue! In addition to the work done by our teachers to pack up their classrooms and then set them up again, we were helped by all our CPS staff, as well as dozens of volunteers, including support from long-time CPS supporters like Lombard International, Saxby’s Coffee and Smith Flooring, in addition to members of our Board of Trustees. Though this is only the beginning, we wanted to take the time out to thank everyone who has worked to make this possible every step of the way!
Strawberry Mansion Day
Girard Avenue Community Day
This fall, CPS has continued our commitment to the C in our name. We continue to announce our presence in the neighborhoods and communities we call home.
On September 15th, we participated in the annual Strawberry Mansion Day. Thanks to the Strawberry Mansion NAC and CDC, along with Council President Darrell Clarke’s Office, for hosting this fantastic community celebration.
On October 13th, State Rep Donna Bullock and the Fairmount CDC hosted Girard Avenue Community Day. We are proud of our community-minded friends and advocates for hosting a festive and successful event!
If you weren’t able to make it out to this wonderful event, or if you want to remember the great time you had, our friends at MainLine Focus put together some amazing videos that really captured this great event benefiting CPS!
Take a look! You might even see some familiar CPS faces throughout!
Basketball Clinic at LaSalle University
Green Carpet Party at The Franklin Residences
The Gerald Henderson Charity Golf Invitational
Our Family Council, guided by CPS parent/assistant teacher Mrs. Harris, held their Red Carpet Affair. Students and their families– along with some teachers and alumni– put on their best outfits to have a great time. They enjoyed delicious treats, dancing and hanging out with all their friends from the CPS community! Everybody looked great and had a great time!
A group of Temple University theater students, led by their professor and CPS parent Amina Robinson, performed their play Anesia and the Fifth Grade Election. The play dealt with gossip and standing up for what’s right. In addition to the play, the group talked to our students about the trickster archetype and the African origins of theater. As an added bonus, our very own Ms Chrystina surprised us all with her role as Miss Billington the Fifth Grade English teacher!!
CPS students and their families took advantage of the fall break and got together at Rolling Thunder. They skated, played games, ate pizza and had a great time! Thanks to the Family Council for organizing this fundraising event!
Please contact email@example.com regarding tickets for the event on July 31, 2017.
